A few minutes later found us both in the pool, but only one of us was relaxing. That person wasnât me. Asher sat on the bench on the opposite side of the pool with his head leaned back and his eyes closed. The gentle warm water lapped at his once-more flesh-covered chest, a chest I couldnât stop looking at.
I fidgeted atop my own seat, and not just because of my naughty gaze. The Two-Mound was proving to be more than I expected, or less, depending on how you looked at it. Or me. I tried to adjust the scanty top and bottom without his noticing to cover more of my body.
I jumped when Asher spoke. âYou have admirable qualities that shouldnât be hidden.â
âIâd like to keep a little mystery about me,â I quipped as I performed more adjusting that did nothing to hide my assets.
âWould you like some help?â he offered.
I furrowed my brow as I made tiny adjustments to the even tinier straps. âThere you go using the wrong word-eep!â The tiny squeak was because one bikini strap had slipped down and revealed a little nearly as much breast as a roasted chicken.
I felt nearly that hot when I looked up and noticed Asherâs intense gaze on my body. The crystal-clear water had given him a clear view of my body, and my mishap. I returned the strap to its rightful place and crossed my arms over my chest.
âWhat exactly did the Sisters say to you when you put in this order?â I asked him.
âThat I had good tastes in clothing for hiring them and that I had good taste in women for the measurements,â he teased.
I snorted and shifted atop the bench. It was a little hard. Steam rose up and brushed against my cheeks, soothing my aches and releasing tension. âSo Iâve never been in a hot spring before. What are we supposed to do now?â
His eyebrows shot up and that mischief look reappeared on his face. âThat would depend on your preference. Most people sit and relax.â
I was old enough to know what he meant, but I couldnât help but ask. âAnd the others?â
âThey-shall we say-exercise,â he replied.
Images danced through my mind of the sorts of âexercisesâ he was hinting at. The more evocative ones made my already-red cheeks take on a whole new level of reddish hue. Still, I couldnât deny that what my imagination came up with wasnât tempting, especially with this dragon man having confessed that his more beastly half was very interested in me.
Fortune favors the bold I said to myself as I took a deep breath and dropped my arms to my sides. Asher did a terrible job of pretending to be fixated on one of the trees to his left, but I could feel his gaze on me. That only made me want him more, but I hesitated. I was playing with fire, and not just the burning desire within me. He was a dragon, after all, albeit not in the typical Knight-and-Damsel variety.
